On your PP questions Id like to reply to the "Do you think it is wiser to admit you do not know or maintain a belief system?"
I think it is wiser to admit to not knowing, there is a grounding when you can accept your lack of knowledge, but I don't believe that would mean the person acknowledging a lack of knowledge would have any less faith or drive towards what they believe to be true. But I could see some religious people not being as flexible theistically, so your third question of "Do you believe religious conflict could be resolved if we all admitted we do not know?" I would answer with no because I don't believe some people CAN have that mindset without abandoning their beliefs.
More humility is definitely needed in our world, but how does that square with statements like "your life is entirely of your making"? Is there a humble version of that sentiment?
In any event, it'd sure be nice if more of us acknowledged that belief is one thing and knowledge (never mind certainty) is something else again.
