PHIL 3310. Exploring the philosophical, ethical, spiritual, existential, social, and personal implications of a godless universe, and supporting their study at Middle Tennessee State University & beyond.
Humanism is rooted in Enlightenment philosophy like Immanuel Kant's:
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed immaturity. Immaturity is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This immaturity is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment." http://www.columbia.edu/acis/ets/CCREAD/etscc/kant.html

I enjoyed this video a lot. I agree that our decisions shouldn't be made based on tradition or general rules. We should examine the context and evidence of a situation or action. "Morality comes from us," really sums it up quite well.
This video was good. However i think when its left of to Humans to decide we get slavery, we the Holocaust, and we get the wealth gap. All that was caused and based off people's moral beliefs and from their own will.
I could listen to Stephen Fry all day.
