PHIL 3310. Exploring the philosophical, ethical, spiritual, existential, social, and personal implications of a godless universe, and supporting their study at Middle Tennessee State University & beyond.
Here is another favorite from Sam Harris. He wrote this shortly after he published his first book, The End of Faith.
This essay is a potent distillation of the essence of what Sam Harris is all about: full-strength, undiluted, unapologetic. Of course this style causes spasms of offense and outrage among the faithful, much to my amusement.
Stirring "to the barricades" essay. If only moral indignation were an alternative energy source! I finish the piece ready to enlist in Sam's army - or tithe to his church.
Sam is still my favorite voice in the New Atheist chorus, hands down. The End of Faith was a real game changer for me, back in the day. Very stirring, indeed.
