PHIL 3310. Exploring the philosophical, ethical, spiritual, existential, social, and personal implications of a godless universe, and supporting their study at Middle Tennessee State University & beyond.
I frequently will have a laugh over youtube fails videos and will say that its natural selection at its best. However when I reflect on whether I truly would be fine with letting nature take its course i don't believe I would be happy with the society that became of it. Ignorance and bravery run too rampant through the culture to condone letting children or mentally handicapped people make important decisions that very well could end their lives in an instant.
Haha! This made me laugh. It is a funny prospect, but I will have to go with the commenter above, that letting everyone do whatever they want would in actuality be a lot less funny. Unless, people self regulate without laws better than we think? It is an interesting thought, but I am skeptical that that would be the case. Either way, I will still continue to enjoy youtube fails videos without shame.
Remember, Darwin was not a Social Darwinist. He did not advocate modeling human society or politics on nature's struggle,"red in tooth and claw," for survival. He was not in favor of transplanting the "survival of the fittest" mantra to human culture and interpersonal relations. So George's statement is misleading, though for him characteristically misanthropic.
