I've taught this course every other Spring for many years now, always with a different anchoring theme. Our theme this semester: 'isms. How does atheism relate to theism, agnosticism, authoritarianism, humanism, naturalism, secularism, stoicism, pragmatism, ...?
My initial questions for you: Who are you, why are you here, which (if any) of the 'isms do you identify with, and why?

Hello All, My name is John Braxton Brewer, I prefer John Braxton though. I am a little late to the part of introducing myself but still I should share. The basics, I am a senior and have been born and raised in Murfreesboro. My employer is Waffle House and I enjoy in my free time playing a variety of Nintendo Games. The big isms I identify myself as well I am not quite sure. I was raised in a politically conservative, Primitive Baptist household. I do know that I am the opposite of those views now. As far as labels go though I am ignorant of their meanings and names. That is what I hope to learn in this course and better know others
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the fold, John.
DeleteOthers, you may have noticed, chose to introduce themselves under the opening day post. But as we pragmatists say, whatever works!
Thank you for the response! I will send my introduction there. I am still navigating the site. Trying to establish a routine of reading and staying up to date with the information as well. Thanks again!
