1. What were the two things Descartes believed were infinite?
2. Who had the brilliant follow-up to that?
3. What was Descartes proof of the existence of a God?
4. What shape did Matthew McConaughey and I use to describe time?
5. Who was the crazy guy who tried to say the Universe is experiencing itself through our eyes?
6. Finally, was Alan Watts a deist?
Answers to these, for anyone who wants them to study for the exam:
ReplyDelete1. God and the Universe
2. Spinoza. He said there can only be one infinite thing
3. Solely the idea he held of what a God is
4. Circle. A flat Circle...so dumb. But sorta makes sense
5. Alan Watts, if you still haven't yet, you should check
him out. He's super interesting.
6. This one probably won't be on the exam because there
was some debate on whether he actually was or not. I,
as well as a few others think his beliefs do line up
with Deism, however Dr. Oliver believes he is a
Pantheist. This could also be a type of essay
question, though, if that's something he's interested
in putting on the test. Would be kinda fun to try,
like a little gimme. Idk, just a thought.
