Not all faith should be considered equal. The mountaineer may have terrible odds of landing the leap, but we could calculate those odds. The ways in which their confidence affects their body and allows them to make the jump could also be observed scientifically.Victornoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7609541124817386376.post-9667263338975779042016-03-17T13:47:54.422-05:002016-03-17T13:47:54.422-05:00Quiz Question:

Not saying that just because someone evaluates their life that the only answer must be a "religious answer". I do know, (personally, and through books) that a lot of people who have been in circumstances of being mentally ill, or having a substance abuse problems has brought them to a lot of 'religious experiences". In their own terms. Such belief would be madness or ignorance, or both. No matter how far reaching the argument, Satanism and Christianity will always be diametrically opposed. At some point, someone has to believe that the religions are wrong somewhere, thus making space for belief overlap. However, I do not believe that ultimately one has to believe that all religions categorically oppose one another. Unitarians accept all belief systems without presupposing that they all have to agree with one another. The Baha'i Faith (http://www.bahai.org/) is a little different. It seeks to incorporate the many different manifestations of what it deems to essentially be the same religion. Kudos to them.
Alexandria Robertshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18092644261490716101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7609541124817386376.post-56742929414760158972016-03-17T12:15:15.793-05:002016-03-17T12:15:15.793-05:00DQ:If you're religious, how would you describe...DQ:If you're religious, how would you describe your own "doctrinal profile" (5)? If you're not, what's your attitude towards believers whose profile is literalist, or indefinite?
My aunt and grandmother have a near literal doctrinal profile and whenever the family starts talking about "sciency" stuff they start comparing and analysing the subject with text from the Bible. Which is where I step into the conversation, because generally they confuse the science with psuedoscience, causing me to let out an exasperated sigh when they still do not understand the science.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12267919853006982562noreply@blogger.com
